Good Luck Dana!

Our co-pilot this year is Dana Atkins. We're wishing her luck over the next couple of weeks as she participates in Nationals for UND's flying team! Dana has been flying for 6 years now. She recently achieved her MEI, and in the future looks forward to working for the humanitarian side of aviation, flying relief aid or medevac domestically or abroad.

EAA Fly-In Fun!

Last Sunday was EAA Chapter 1342's annual Young Eagles fly in at the Crookston Municipal Airport, and our team was so excited to help out!! This year, UND's EAA Chapter was able to give airplane rides to 51 kids! It's always extremely rewarding for our team members to help out with these events.  Giving back to the community and working with kids is important to us because it's how many of us got started ourselves!

Last week the team met with our weather support, Fred Remer!  Fred and his team are tremendously helpful to us every year. We're all getting excited to work together, and Fred is starting to get his team together for this season.  Thanks, Fred!

Air Race Off Season? Let's inspire Future Air Racers!

The last few months have kept our team members busy! Since our last post we have had a new addition to the team; Dakotah has joined on as this year's ground coordinator.  She and Jenna, this year's navigator, were excited to go to a local middle school to teach the kids about flight planning and weather!  A few weeks following, they were able to participate in UND's Women in Aviation event, working with young girls to encourage them to get into aviation.  Flying paper airplanes and talking to them about the Air Race was a huge success, and the girls were excited to hear about all about it!
